Is an Oculus Quest 2 worth buying?

In simple words, it is a NO, it is not worth buying one in 2022.

But you might wonder why? It is a device that has a price of 299 USD, somewhat economical considering the features it has, but we must also consider that we must acquire other elements to make the most of it, among them are adapters to play from the PC, a good case to keep them well taken care of, consider that the games range from 9.99 USD to 39.99 USD and some require purchasing extra accessories to complement the game.

Another reason why I do not consider it worth it is that it is not easy to acquire in Latin America, we must purchase it through Amazon or with lockers and even then we must pay the necessary taxes, pay the import duty and shipping costs. This limits the possibility of interacting with your friends and acquaintances, also considering that it is a device for personal use and it is not possible to share it at the same time or play as a family with the same device as you could with a video game console.

Why else would I buy it?

If you want to experiment in creating the new interfaces that these types of devices can provide us, to test the new technologies that they are implementing and if you do not want to be left out of the metaverse, it is a good option. In my personal case I want to understand how developments are carried out for this platform as well as the construction of games for Oculus Quest 2.
