Programs like this one, driven by the Medellín city government, are exactly how technology reaches young people. This is my second consecutive year supporting the initiative, bringing education and artificial intelligence to the youth of Medellín — the city where I now live, where my son enjoys growing up, and where I see enormous potential for becoming a truly innovative city, full of talented young people with a hunger to learn.

What Is Creadores Medellín Joven?
Creadores Medellín Joven is a call for applications and a training experience driven in Medellín for young people interested in content creation, digital communication, technology, and creativity. The program combines hands-on training, urban tours, creative labs, mentoring sessions with professionals, youth networking, digital culture, and communication skills.
The initiative aims to strengthen the skills of young creators and communicators through immersive experiences focused on content creation, digital communication, artificial intelligence, audiovisual production, digital storytelling, youth culture, and technology applied to media. It also connects participants with experts and leaders from different creative fields.
Workshop: AI Agents
One of the main components of the event is the Creative Labs, where specialists guide practical learning processes. This year I had the honor of leading the AI Agents lab.
The goal of the lab was straightforward: learn to build AI assistants and agents to automate, enhance, and improve creative and digital processes. No empty theory — real practice with tools that young people can apply from day one.
We built from scratch, creating agents capable of solving concrete tasks, connecting tools, and running creative workflows. The idea was always the same one that drives all my projects: AI should not be magic reserved for a privileged few. It should be an accessible tool for anyone with curiosity and the willingness to learn.
What Each Participant Receives
The event is much more than a workshop. Attendees live a full experience:
- Urban tour: they discover stories and transformation processes from Medellín’s history.
- Hands-on training: workshops and labs focused on youth communication and digital creation.
- Certification: every young person receives a certificate upon completing the program.
- Cultural activities: the event includes artistic programming in the Carlos E. Restrepo neighborhood.

Medellín as a City of Opportunity

Seeing young people between 14 and 28 years old arriving at 8:30 on a Saturday morning, phone in hand, with a genuine desire to build something new with AI — that is not a small thing. It is proof that the talent is there and only needs space, access, and direction.
Medellín has shown me it can be that city. The Mayor’s office, Medellín Joven, the Public Libraries System, EPM, INDER, and the cultural partners that sustain this initiative are doing something important: building infrastructure of opportunity for those who need it most.
Coming back this year was an easy decision. There is no more direct way to contribute than to show up, teach from practice, and show a young person that they can build technology, not just consume it.
The future of Medellín is in those hands.
